SYNOPSIS

At the end of their sabbatical year roaming around the world, just as they are about to enter “THE END" in their respective diaries, four backpackers find themselves adding an unexpected leg to their journey across an improbable tropical island in the middle of a Swiss Lake, between palm trees and snow-capped peaks.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES

A sabbatical year, roaming around the world, for many youths represents an opportunity to procrastinate the beginning of something that they will have to carry forward for the rest of their lives. Now instead they face each and every day as a new and completely different adventure, constantly putting themselves to the test, and, at every stop, discovering something more about themselves.

Unaware that the deepest revelation will be found not departing from home, but returning there.

And it is precisely in that moment and in that mood, that we encounter the four protagonists.

Their forced stop on the island becomes an alibi to prolong their return, and ultimately, a way to end that voyage as a group instead of each on his own.

The decision to write a farewell letter to the parents of the dead boy, feigning the beginning of his journey, suitably represents the end of theirs, and a fuller awareness that sanctions the epilogue.
